Renewal Payment Declined?
** January 2025 thru March 2025 **
If you received an email saying your payment for your MI-AMTE e-Membership subscription was declined, please follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
What happened? In March 2024, our payment processor (Stripe) became disconnected from the MI-AMTE store. We reset the connection so new transactions could be processed, but unfortunately it resulted in the saved payment information for existing customers being permanently disconnected, even though the info appears to be correct when viewed within your account.
This issue affects all MI-AMTE members who subscribed between January 2024 and March 2024.
Here’s how to fix it:
1. Log in to your member account.
2. Go to “Account Settings”.
Important: Do not click “Manage Subscriptions” to try to update your payment details there: that will generate an error.
You must first DELETE your saved payment information by following the steps below.
3. Select “Payment”.
4. DELETE all saved payment information.
This step is important: it clears the faulty payment information associated with the March 2024 reset.
5. Add your NEW payment method(s).
Remember to “Save”!
Please Read!
Steps 6-9, below, assume your e-Membership subscription auto-renewal FAILED but has NOT YET been cancelled. (The system will try three times to renew, five days apart).
If your subscription has been CANCELLED, you will instead need to sign-up for a NEW membership. When you do so, please note that you do “already have an account” (even though your membership was cancelled), so be sure to select that at the bottom of the window (see image) when signing up for your new membership.
[If you’ve read the previous “Please Read” box and confirmed your subscription has not yet been cancelled, you may continue with the steps below.]
6. Return to the Account Settings screen.
7. Select “Subscriptions”.
8. Select “MI-AMTE e-Membership”.
9. Select “Update Now”.
You should then see a list of your saved payment methods. Select the one you will use for your e-Membership.
That’s it!
Your future renewal payments should now process successfully using the new payment information you have provided.
What’s next?
If you have had any failed e-Membership renewals, the system will automatically retry five days after the previous attempt. If your renewal fails three times in a row, your member subscription will be canceled and you will need to re-subscribe.
Thanks for your patience!
